Youngest Aggies!

So far, we have received the most excellent care from every single nurse and doctor at this hospital. I am completely impressed by everyone who has taken care of us this past week and especially the nurses in the NICU. One of our favorite nurses is Amy - she is wonderful at explaining exactly what she is doing at all times and really lets us take a big part in caring for Eli and Landon. And despite her loyalty to Texas Tech, she made an Aggie bed for the boys tonight. We really love Amy!

The boys are doing just great! Yesterday and today were big days for us. Landon got his first introduction to a bottle. It's hard for them to suck/swallow/breath all at the same time and we were told that they wouldn't try a bottle until next week, but Landon is doing so well that they went ahead and started with him yesterday. Last night, Dustin and I gave the boys their first bath. The nurses there are great at helping us each and every step of the way, but still letting us have a big part in caring for Eli and Landon. Today, both boys got to try the bottle and they did great! Eating on their own is a huge factor in getting to go home, so we are just so excited that they did so well. The boys are now exclusively on breast milk which I am really excited about. There is so little that I am able to do for them, so to be able to provide that makes me feel a little more like their mommy.

Today has been a really hard day. I am being discharged which means I will no longer be just one floor away and I won't be able to walk down there in the middle of the night just to check in on them. We were told we could go home this morning and here it is almost 5:00 and we just can't seem to leave. A very good friend of ours is letting us stay at her house, so we won't be far. It's just so hard to leave these precious boys.

Okay...here are a few more pictures. Dustin is loading up the car and we are moving across town (only to come back up here as soon as possible).

Oh my goodness, they are so beautiful. I can't believe how well they are doing. I'm so sorry you have to leave them, I can't imagine how hard it is. We'll keep praying and you will be able to take those sweet peas home soon!

Hey guys,

These little guys are still amazing. They are doing so well and we couldn't be more happy. You are all still in our prayers. Kathy said these are the most precious babies in the world-I told her to remember that when they are chasing her. Let us know how they are and what we can do if anything. We love you and are so excited to watch these little men grow.

Hello there- I know your cousin Amy and she asked me to check on you guys. I work in the marketing dept. at Covenant. I stopped by the NICU this afternoon, but I missed you. I did get to see these precious babies though and I'm so glad I did because they are beautiful! I left a little something for you that I hope will be helpful!
